With our unmatched success in both the European and Asian markets, Beckmann Volmer has set out to further expand its international distribution network, by serving as a manufacturer and supplier for the North American market. The focus of our American operations lies in the sustainable construction of a production plant allowing us to capitalize on the enormous growth potential for wind power in North America.
Our official market entry date was January 14th, 2010. Following numerous negotiations, Osceola, Arkansas, was selected as the primary location. Two strategically important factors were satisfied when choosing this location: the positive production conditions and geographical closeness to target markets. Being directly adjacent to the Mississippi River, Osceola offers ideal connections both to the interstate and major waterway, ideal for transporting large steel components (up to 80 tons) for use in on - and offshore wind turbines.
According to our current plan, the group of companies will invest $17.5 million (US) in this facility and provide excellent employment opportunities for up to 300 people. Production is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2011.
